ViLeArn goes Social XR

ViLeArn started in 2019 and focuses on Social VR with the idea of developing the necessary base technologies and exploring VR seminars in remote settings. In 2022, we are now expanding our immersive capabilities, transforming ViLeArn to a Social XR solution for mixed teaching and learning scenarios in both VR and AR.

During our last development session, we preliminarily integrated the Varjo XR-3 mixed reality device into the ViLeArn application. We were impressed by Varjo’s XR plugin and its compatibility with our software.

The images show three participants collaborating in ViLeArn and the Varjo XR-3 video see-through perspective. The other two participants are using an Oculus Rift S and an HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition. We are looking forward to implement Social AR capabilities in ViLeArn and are excited about our first Social XR seminar.
